"INDIANA JONES" BIO TERMINOLOGY EXPLAINED
In the mid 1980s we did a formal survey of dozens of clients and prospective clients about their pet peeves in recruiting. The number one complaint was that typical manufacturing managers (our niche) resumes were boring, unfocused & a weak tool to get a real handle on the strengths & weaknesses of the applicants/candidates. Coincidentally during this period the Indiana Jones series were setting box office records across the US. We subsequently got the idea to merge the Indiana Jones “spirit” of adventure with our typical search candidate’s biography including her/his career work accomplishments. It became “action”(what did you actually do, how ,why & the results?) versus ho hum employment narrative. Hence the Indiana Jones bio evolved.
